There is such tragic poignancy in those words. Our lives seem to be spent trying to keep something from dying: love, our bodies, our souls. We take pictures to freeze a moment in time thinking that it will keep the moment, people, feeling alive. Wouldn’t we be able to enjoy what we have now so much more if we could just embrace it’s death as a natural part of the cycle? Maybe we could strive less, worry less, suffer less and live more. Maybe part of the flowers beauty is in its fleeting nature.
Don’t try to make life a mathematics problem with yourself in the center and everything coming out equal. When you’re good, bad things can still happen. And if you’re bad, you can still be lucky.
