The biggest problem is that these are just numbers on paper. The real dollar amounts have become so big that they just don’t register anymore. Seeing it as a family budget makes it a little less surreal.
This is the cold, hard truth of our government’s out of control spending and it’s love of debt. We need to drastically and continually cut spending to even start to chip away at it. This is economic reality, not political posturing.
